HEllo. My name is Kat.

I was born in a small Virginia town where the ridges are blue. In my adolescence, our family moved west to a dusty, vibrant city in the high desert. As a young adult, I earned an art degree and learned to draw the Spanish moss in the deep south. Setting out into the world, a western North Carolina town famous for craft beer and drum circles became home for a while. Somewhere along the way, I found myself hunting whitetail and building bonfires in rural maple country.

Today, my time is mostly spent in the largest city in Appalachia.

Cooking, reading, traveling, painting, taking photos, watching hockey, slurping noodles, and spending time in nature are among my favorite activities. I believe it is vital to explore, taste, feel, savor, create, learn, and capture everything possible during our short time here.
